Job Description:

A vice president of manufacturing is an executive who works for a company in the manufacturing sector. In this career, your responsibilities include overseeing production operations so that the manufacturing process runs smoothly, efficiently, and on budget. Your duties also involve making plans for company growth and ensuring that the manufacturing operations can meet the demands of new clients. You may also need to negotiate with suppliers and OEM partners to get components and raw materials that fit within your company’s budget. You must perform your due diligence before partnering with new suppliers, as you are ultimately responsible for the failure or success of these partnerships.

Job Duties:

  • Developing and implementing manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality standards are met
  • Ensuring that production goals are met by effectively managing the workforce
  • Conducting audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Managing inventory levels to ensure an adequate supply of raw materials and finished products
  • Coordinating with engineers to design new equipment or processes that will improve efficiency in manufacturing operations
  • Coordinating with marketing staff to ensure that production goals align with seasonal demand for products
  • Managing employee relations by setting policies regarding hiring and firing practices, as well as addressing complaints from employees about working conditions
  • Overseeing the entire manufacturing process from start to finish, including planning, design, materials procurement, labor management, production scheduling, quality control, shipping, and finance
  • Developing safety protocols and training workers on procedures to minimize hazards in the workplace

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in an Audio Visual or similar manufacturing role required
  • Exceptional organizational skills with experience in project management required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
  • PL experience with proven results of driving both growth and profitability, ideally has worked in a fast growth environment
  • High level of technical competence in areas of manufacturing technologies, employee management, continuous improvement technologies, problem-solving, and quality systems
